help kj m9 question

hi all can anyone help me out here ,the young lad got a kj m9 for xmass and you guessed it ,not working now the problem is that when you fire it gas comes out every where ,it doesnt take a pellet from the mag anyone any ideas we are new to airsoft and he is wrecking me head to fix it ian

Sounds like its either dry or suffering "cooldown".,

try removing the slide and giving the piston a spraying with silicone oil, (not wd40) and let the gun heat up near a radiator before using it again.,
