hardrive help

    just felt a scary shock as i noticed i only had 20 gigs of hard disk left after a cleanup.

    i thinking of either upgrading my internal hard drive or buying an external one.

    my two queries are

    1 what type of hard drive do i need (would like between 500g and 1tb of storage and i don't want to break the bank as i am only 15.

    2 will an external hard drive be as fast as the internal one and if so any recommendations?

    my pc is a hp pavillion a6102
