Gaggia Baby Dose - No Coffee Dispensing

Got a new Gaggia Baby Dose from the gf for Christmas.

It looks very pretty and generates lots of steam and noise, but alas no coffee flows from it.

I have followed the instructions several times, as has the gf, but no luck.

Any ideas? This came straight out of the box. There is no water coming out at all from the dispenser. I am thinking about unscrewing the shower disc to see if there is something up there blocking the water.

    Many thanks!

    M.

I don't have the Dose but when I setup up my Baby, if memory serves me correctly, I had to follow a procedure which involved passing water through the steam rod before I could brew a coffee.

The instructions were in the manual (sheet) of paper that came with the machine. I didn't bother following them thinking it was just a matter of filling it with water and plugging it in.

    Thanks for the info cgf.

I had followed all of the layers of complicated instructions like you had endured but this got me nowhere. Where did work though was taking out the shower disc and associated parts and hey presto, we got water! There must have been some sort of airlock (I guess?) as it is now working.

Note for anyone else trying this - the parts will be HOT so be careful!

    Thanks again!
