Phoenix park wil be closed off on Sunday for Dublin City Tri. Parking will be a major problem - Chapelizod road is closed off as well. Damn triathletes.

The north side of the park is open, isn't it?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 20,366 Mod ✭✭✭✭RacoonQueen

Good point yeah it should be. DCT uses some of Chesterfield between the Kyber and Castleknock - Should be parking etc by the Zoo and the Parkgate Street end of Chesterfield.

Can i suggest a route? From the Papal Cross down Acres Road, along the S bends and up to the gate at the NCR and then do the marathon route from miles 4 to 10 and then back through the War Memorial and down by the river and back to the Papal Cross.

Its about a 9 or 10 mile route so some might need water with them. Let me know what you think folks?

Planning on continuing on my run after my hill session in the morning, might see yee out there somewhere.

To the newbies, welcome in advance. In case no one else can stop us as the cool runners in the car park, i'll be wearing my Boards singlet.

The usual rule is we wait 5 minutes and then head off. We are going to go down the Acres road and then left up the S bends so if you're late, you can run down the Kyber hill (across from the car park) and meet us at the bottom. We should be back to the cars after about 9 miles or so.

See you all tomorrow, and looking forward to this new route. Sounds like a great run!
