This is the danger of planning 9am runs.
Less of that in the future :D

i dont normally mind the 9 am start.
you get finished nice and early and have the rest of the day to do whatever.
tonight i've had a few beers already and i'll probably have a couple more.
a lie in will do me no harm.

The original planner was first to bail out ;-) ah well I'll have a pint now to ease the pain.

Sounds good and could be a nice alternative to the phoenix park. I did a recce of leg 1 back in May, you can park in Kilmashogue and follow the route till Ballybrack rd and then head back, probably about 12 miles though but the views are well worth it and the second half is a nice free fall till you have to go back and get the car.

I'd love to do this if it became a regular run, alas the achilles would'nt thank me on those hills atm. Maybe in a few weeks.

Good run this morning. Will definitely be doing it again. Started at Marlay and did 5miles out and 5miles back. I see why you recommended parking in Kilmashogue - the road up to that carpark an unrelenting toughie. And I don't know where I was going with my 9.30 pace... At 5 miles the average pace was 11m/m. A different run - tough and requires alot more concentration that I'd be used to but a brilliant one for the bank!

Yeah it's a pretty tough start up to Kilmashougue and it never seems to end.

Certainly is - and not much fun on the way down to make up for it! Had to put the brakes on for fear of toppling over and or wrecking the shins!

Should be able to see it now - I think I had it locked?

I'll join you tomorrow for this lads if thats ok. Pace somewhere between 8:30 & 9 would be ideal for me I reckon. Might not do 15 but double figures at least.

Yeah enjoyed that run today lads. Weather was brutal but bareable just about. Nice handy pace , 8.47 average for 15 miles.

Did I spot a couple of you guys finishing up in the papal cross carpark at around 2:30-ish? I think I recognised a couple of familiar faces from pacing races etc? I should keep an eye on this thread as I could have joined you for a few miles.

Yeah, that was definitely us. Great run but the wind was brutal. Did I see you running around the car park to make up distance? :p
