Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

120GB HD for 360

    Anyone know best place >>cheapest! to get the 120GB HD?

    Is it easy to transfer over stuff with the cable? what did u do with your old 20GB HD?

    Or should i just be trading up for an Elite, They come with a 120GB?

    I've been on the look out for one myself. So far I've found:
    • Ranging from ~€40 - ~€80 (excluding shipping) from China via eBay. Most like fake drives. They'd still work, but they're not official and won't come with the transfer cable.
    • £88.09 (~€91) from Argos UK - Best option if you're making a trip North any time soon.
    • €105.44 from Komplett - excludes shipping (€12.55 by An Post, €7.50 to pick up in Blanchardstown Corporate Park). Total would be either €117.99 or €112.94.
    • €125 in Gamestop
    • €160 in GAME :eek:
    I've not checked the likes of Smyths, and I haven't seen them in HMV/Zavvi (both are manic with the "sales" on).

    AFAIK, it's easy to transfer your stuff across. The transfer kit consists of a cable and a disc that copies the data across and supposedly wipes your 20GB. Make sure your 20GB is actually empty before you sell it on though.

    The elite does come with a 120GB HDD if you do go that route.

    Saw one for €100 in Zavvi Cork today, wasn't dropped in price even though everything else was.

    Gamestop sometimes have second hand ones for €100 but could be dodge of whats on it or cant format previous stuff. Plus you probably wont get a transfer cable with it then.


    Its something I want to look into too as installs>>>aircraft takeoff disk-drive :rolleyes:

    Thx for that guys, might just be simpler to upgrade to Elite, any1 know do get a transfer cable with that? or can u get a transfer cable seperately?

    The aircraft taking off is why i want the 120, cause u can put yur games onto the HDD, no noise from disc spinning, plus games load up quicker. only downside is that the games take appox 6 gigs each, i'm down to last 1.5 gig on the 20HHD.

    Toymaster have 50% off everything in store. I saw the 120GB HDD in the Roscommon branch but I'm pretty sure it was €200 before the discount.

    Two things man, firstly with the updated xbox os you can copy games to the hdd on all xboxes (not just elites)

    Second i got my elite the other day and when asked the guy at the counter told me you contact microshíte and they send you out the transfer cable for free now i know they do this but i dont know if its true or he just wasnt arséd gettin one for me

    But yeah you are right about the disc spinning noise being greatly reduced there were times with the elite on in the background that i forgot it was on, after 3 years of feelin like i was in hanger 11 :)
