Thermostat for a solid fuel cooker

What's the best alternative to a pipe stat in a solid fuel cooker? Since our kitchen was replaced there is no access to the faulty stat. I have put a room stat in behind the cupboard next to the cooker as close as possible but the range is not wide enough for switching the circulating pump so now the pump must be switched manually off and on every time we light the cooker!
    Thanks.

you're using a room stat to detect the rise in ambient temperature beside the range (never tried that one!). you might be able to fit the pipe stat close to the cylinder where its accessible instead but you'd need to check with the plumber . i don't know any other solution assuming you need a pump/stat(sometimes they're not needed ).your stat may have just fallen off or a wire come loose during the renovation. they dont give much trouble that im aware of
