    Say, in every country, a random 50 % of the population was brutally slaughtered. How would this possibly effect the world economy?

    I don't think you're going to get a serious answer to that question (as asked, it's barely more useful than "if we all chopped off a hand, what difference would it make?"). I'd suggest After Hours.
