I'd agree with these, though I'm working off the logic if Stephen Ireland is overall player of the season, he's also got to be young player (otherwise I'd go for Ashley Young).

Bacary Sagna - In the games I've watched he always seems to be our best defender making interceptions, tackles, knocking shots off line and very consistent. All our others defenders and goalkeeper seem to have made a couple of mistakes at point or another. Best right-back in the premiership.

Steven Gerrard without a doubt. I watched him in the first half against hull - 2-0 down if that was Arsenal they would have collapsed as they always do when they concede a goal but Gerrard, drove Liverpool back into the game and even scored both goals. He tackles, he creates, he leads the perfect midfielder with the added bonus he scores loads of goals. I would love to have a player like him at Arsenal someone to inspire the young lads when they concede - instead they fall apart.

Also, nice to see Nicolas Anelka finally proving himself at a top club. As much as I disliked him for what happened at Arsenal, I didn't like to see his potential wasted - 14 goals in 17 games is incredible and he's also bagged two in Europe - he hasn't hit that form at a top club since he left Arsenal.

I'm gonna add one more - worst player and worst youth player who happens to play at my favourite club - Nicklas Bendtner! The pink boots top if off! If he was good he could get away with it - the fact he's slow, insists on passing to the other team and couldn't score in a brothel makes the boots look rediculous. How does he have the confidence to wear them?

lads, stephen ireland wont be near the player of the year award. maybe nominated for young player but thats about it. the usuals will be nominated like Gerrard, Lampard etc instead of him. Laurssen has been superb and one or 2 more, im sure somebody will pick the top scorer i.e. - anelka though his performances have not matched his goals tally

player of the year, quite simply the only outstanding candidate for me is Vidic.

i cannot pick a young player of the year, but if he qualifies then Ashley Young with Gabby Agbon 2nd.

i dont see the point of me picking LOI players as the season is well over

just an observation here, seems to be a few votes for insua. now, im not really one to watch liverpool much but from listening to my housemates who are all liverpool fans, they aint been impressed with him much and dont hold great hopes in the long term.

He's probably our only 'young' player, well, him or Lucas, and your friends are stoopid if they think he will not b a very good player.
