My friend is just finished a FAS course(she is 23) she wants to do the next level of the course which starts in march.

She lives with her boyfriends in a 3 bedroomd flat, he has a full time job.

She is just wondering would she be entitaled to ANYTHING at all from the social welfare while she is waiting on the next level of the course to start, seen as she lives with her partner who is working.

It depends on what the boyfriend is earning so the answer could be yes, no or maybe. Best (and surest) way to find out is to contact her local office.

FAS may be able to give some advice/recommendation as she is between courses with them, they must have come up against this situation before where people want to do the next stage. They won't give advice on the social welfare entitlements but they might be able to point her in the right direction with the right questions............maybe........................
