Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

basically, if your club's manager resigned tomorrow, which of the current crop would you like to see take over (hatred of Mr Ferguson put to one side of course Liverpool fans.)

    1. Alex Ferguson
    2. Arsene Wenger
    3. Rafa Benitez
    4. Martin O'Neill
    5. David Moyes
    6. Steve Bruce
    7. Roy Hodgson
    8. Luis Scolari
    9. Sam Allardyce
    10. Harry Redknapp
    11. Phil Brown
    12. Joe Kinnear
    13. Mark Hughes
    14. Tony Pulis
    15. Tony Mowbray
    16. Gary Megson
    17. Gareth Southgate
    18. Gianfranco Zola
    19. Tony Adams
    20. Ricky Spragia

personally I dont think anyone would be as suited to the Villa job atm as Martin O'Neil but if i had to pick one from that list i guess it would be David Moyes cos i could see him suiting the job as it is currently the most however he wouldent be the one id rate the highest but of course Wenger, Fergie etc wouldent be heading to Villa Park now.

Wengers next job is probably the French national job whenever he decides to leave Arsenal (unless things go completley tits up for him) and Fergie is in his last job now imo.

I guess I just have more respect for Wenger considering the money he has spent, I also hate Ferguson, maybe I left too much bias creep in, its late at night.

I didn't use a calculation system its just how I work, If it bothers you just round up or down yourself.

how come Mowbray or Pulis have no ratings for this season?

Thus your calculations are flawed and therefore invalid. :pac: I'm just messing around btw. I would happily rate those managers, but I've never ever heard of Phil Brown or Ricky Sbragia (notice how I spelled his name correctly, because I googled it :P)

ah i do not know enough about the conditions at those clubs to be rating their managers,

I would end up just reciting their reputation in the media.

I would take Martin O'Neil. He is destined for one of the big four clubs sooner or later and knows how to get the best out of lesser players.

Maybe the special one, with tony adans as No2.

Without letting emotion get involved, and assuming it's an open choice with no barriers, as a Liverpool fan I would take Alex Ferguson. Most successful manager of the last 15 years, more league titles than anyone else, two european cups.. it's a no brainer.

I was going to stick about 200 quid on Fulham on the handicap at 17/1 at the start of the season. I'm so regretting not doing that now. Really underrated by the bookies. Hodgson's a brilliant manager.

I'd put them as favourites to win it. Had Portsmouth last season and they should have walked away with it. 1 win from any of their last 3 games would have won me €1,700. Even a draw and I'd have halved it with Everton.

Depends on the amount of money you spend between Fergie and Wenger. If you've got literally no money, Wenger is better (although Fergie can pick a bargain). If you've got lots of money, Fergie is better (although Wenger can spend big and get it right at times)

Personally, I think Fergie is much better when he's got less money. He works harder, and gets good signings like Vidic, Evra and VDS on the cheap. 3 world class defenders/goalies for 10 million. Still though, Wenger can build a team from just youth which is amazing

beckham, neville, neville, scholes, giggs, butt, sharpe etc. etc.
Be fair to Fergie he's the forgotten man when it comes to blooding youth.

With all bias put aside i'd take Fergie if he was 10 years younger in a heartbeat as a Liverpool supporter. But considering his age i'd say O'Neill out of that bunch as he has potential to be one of the great managers.
