    Good news for consumers. I was trying to take a case against laptops direct through the SCC but couldn't because they were not registered in Ireland, but now I think I can. I'm currently taking the complaint through the ECC. Fingers crossed.

    I'll want to see a ruling enforced before I'd start cheering and if enforced I would not be surprised if more countries start to opt out as Denmark has. Also note it is not Euro wide, it is EU wide, small but significant difference.

    I believe the ECC are more of a liason group in that they will help you out but I don't think they can force anyone to refund you.

    Yes, the ECC warned me all they can do is negotiate on my behalf. But at least now I can go down the SCC route if all else fails.
