Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Didn't someone tell Elano that this is only a mickey mouse cup game?

Vela finally on for Arsenal. I expect a brace at minimum :pac:

Last throw of the dice, Jo is on... So thats Forest in the 4th round draw.

Apparently it was just an argument over positioning but they both had to be called over to the touchline.

And it certainly isn't 'only a mickey mouse cup game'.

Surprised Betfair haven't opened a live betting on how long he'll last on the pitch before injury.

    Very strong Liverpool team.

The Reds XI in full is: Cavalieri, Insua, Carragher, Hyypia, Agger, Babel, Riera, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard, Keane. Subs: Reina, Torres, Aurelio, Lucas, Ngog, El Zhar, Skrtel.

    Cavalieri

    Carra----Hyypia---Agger---Insua

    Alonso--Masch

    Babel
    Gerrard
    Riera

    Keane

Torres, Skrtel & Aurelio all make the bench which is a big boost. Surprised not to see Lucas start in this one considering its the FA cup and he has been in great form.

Dont think so. We are already out of the Carling Cup so Rafa obviously feels its important that we compete in the FA cup. The team hasnt played in a week and wont play again until next weekend.

Blimmin' great round of matches that (as regards upsets): City lose 3-0, Chelsea draw, Forest Green 3-4 Derby, Stoke losing to Hartlepool. Anyone know if Match of the Day is on tonight?

Nope, its an ITV production from now on. ITV1 10.20-midnight.

That's a shocker of a result for Man City at home. Forest are amongst the whipping boys in the championship.

Big Prem team at home versus struggling lower league team. Hardly a shock really as they happen every year.

Shoulda grabbed that 8/1 on Forest I saw earlier.

I was referring more to the margin of victory than anything else. It still goes down as a shock in my book.

Worst thing that could've happened City was Calderwood going last week. Big start for Billy Davies there.

    Yummy from Riera there. KABOOM

    1-0 to Liverpool

Cant see anything but a Pool win from here - Hopefully a second goal before half-time and then some decent run-outs from some of the subs

    Absolute belter.

Knew we should have signed him 3 years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Preston getting a lot of joy vs the pool left back, hes not very good.

good strike from riera but sloppy defending for him to have the chance.

Sorry mate missed your post above.

I'm watching it on TVU Player channel 21500. It's on Fox Soccer USA. Might be some streams that don't need software on www.rojadirecta.com.

Totally disagree re Insua - he may have made one or two dodgy clearances and given some cheap throw-ins away but I think he has looked very secure overall. Given his recent performances I'd have him as Liverpool's first choice LB ahead of a fit Aurelio or Dossena. Looks every inch a quality defender to me especially when you consider he is only 19.

How out of from does Babel look? Seems to have no confidence whatsoever - not exactly going to give Rafa a headache as regards picking Kuyt over him on the right.

Thought Keane did well there to fashion a chance (even if it did look offside) especially after the earlier miss.

Preston don't seem to have much of a Plan B besides hoofing up the long balls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

I don't I've seen Chaplow hit a pass that was under 15 yards long. Disgraceful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Superb by Carra there - in his favour all he was saying bellowing was "How?"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Great ball in from Gerrard though
