I agree with shoutman. The original idea was to have one player from each side run the line when he wasn't involved in the game. I think we scrapped this because we barely had enough players for the first game but no good reason why it shouldn't come back if the ref is comfortable with it.

as for slide tackles it was an issue in other threads but it hasn't been an issue during any of the games and this surface is nice and soft so there shouldn't be any safety issue here.

    Good idea, imo.

I think there are even some lads coming to watch who won't be playing.

    Maybe they could do it?

Whatever is decided, I'm here to accomodate rather than impose rules.

I'm half tempted to come and watch this match. I'm sure laziness and a look at the weather will persuade me not to though.

Straight from page 7, paragraph 3, section b(ii) of the referee's guidebook.
A good referee always knows his theory. Good stuff Des.

We should just play proper football rules, except for foul throws cos that would be disastrous.

Question for Poker Forum Manager: (Ricky or Daragh I think)

Do we have a team? if so have you thought about formation/positions etc?

Lads I was thinking 3 periods of 30 mintues each would be the best way to go for this?
    Anyone have objections/ different idea?

Also moulded studs are allowed on this but if your not sure bring your astros.
Everyone has to have shinguards, there will be clumsy tackling if people haven't played for a while.

Gentleman's agreement to offside. So no hatching and if Des can see someone is clearly offside he'll call it. If he can't, he won't, simple as.

Yellow card means 5 minutes in the sin bin and your team goes down to ten.

Yes, the more traditional two halves.

I think three thirds is to try and give people a break, also to try and alter tactics as no one will have played together for the most part.

Also I'm still on the lookout if anyone has spare shin guards? If not I suppose I'll pick some up in town.

Yup, pretty much my train of thought.

Afraid not man, thought I would have a spare pair but my brother is actually using them on Sunday.

Guys I'll have a chat with Daragh and post up team and formation. I'll also post up the list of players from this thread and if nobody says otherwise I'll assume the players on this list are available

just seen you have leicester celtic pitch booked. just a quick safety tip... the sidelines are bout 3 ft from the outer wall, along each side line ther is 3-4 steel 5-a-side goals for when the pitch is divided in 4 quarters. I'd strongly suggest taking 2 mins at the start and putting the small goals away at the ends of the pitch, someon running full pelt down a sideline gets tripped and those goals are lethal. just a thought.

Just assume we've a squad of 12 and tell everyone to bring money based on that. If we've more we'll pay slightly less

Get soccer forum to pay half and get the chopper/hectorjelly to sort out the poker forums half Id say.

That sounds fair enough if you's want to go that route?
Would be 70euro per forum the 25 per forum for the ref.
So 95 between the lot of ya's
