Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Absolutely. I've no intentions of killing someone out there, none of our guys are dirty really. All fairly physical but nobody really dirty. If someone goes OTT though I am sure everyone will reprimand the guy and he'll be for the line immediately.

In none of the games we've played against Grosvenor has there been even a hint of aggro. We're all a fairly relaxed bunch to be fair.

oh come on, you don't seriously think me Denis "fairplay" Walsh, is going to hurt a fellow competitor.

On a serious note I once argued the corner of the guy who broke my leg to the ref not to send him off, I regret this decision immensely.

I'm not expecting any to be fair.
Just want to outline what should happen if there is an incident. I don't mind a bit of winding up on the forums and some back-and-forth before/during the match.
But I don't want things to get out of hand either.
If you's have played together then you's are fine.
Our team though, not sure what kind of temperment there is there.
I know I can lose my head in a match, but that usually ends up in a confrontation rather than me going over the top.
I'll make sure not to lose the head in this match though..... if i can

If I can get someone to ref then a ref.
If I do I reckon everyone throws an extra euro in to make it worth their while/pay for the counselling they'll need after the abuse.

Not a prayer this works. With all the will in the world if this is a close game we will need a ref. Fact.

    Ok lads.
Was down in UCD there and have provisionally booked the hockey pitch from 2-4 on the 18th.

I didn't pay for it though as there is one drawback, we'd have to use hockey goals instead of 11-a-side football goals.

How does this sit with everyone?

using UCD seems to have draw back after draw back, not that i'm giving out about your steller work Frisbee! but surely there are other locations we can use?

but if no one else has a problem, then i'm good...

Newpark, Blackrock. 3 years old or so, really good all weather pitch.

(plus it's practically beside me :p) I could check it out?

Well tbh I am more than willing to let someone else organise a pitch for next Sunday that is as easy to find as UCD and won't have people moaning.

    Map.gif

There are directions and stuff here.

Not booked yet because I dunno if calling the school directly is how this is booked. The guy who normally books it has been contacted and soon as he gets back to me I'll let ye know.

I have a feeling people will be complaining that they can't play now as they won't be able to find it...

This is the pitch by the way. The nets obv pull back into a nice big 11-a-side pitch.

    It's ridiculously easy to find!

If you take Exit 14 off the M50 and go up to the crossroads at the Kilmacud Road and take a right then go to the end of the road, take a right at the T-Junction and it is like 50 yards up the road on the left. If 15 hungover poker players can find it I am sure you're crowd can.

I have no problem, I have a feeling I played a 5-a-side tournament there before from the directions and that picture :D

Are they 11 a side goals? I used to train there and could have sworn that they were hockey goals - as seen in the picture.

Right UCD is a last resort as it's only hockey goals :(

    So either

St. Killians which is beside UCD
    or
Leicster Celtic, which is beside nutgrove shopping centre. This is the nicer pitch but I'd expect people to have difficulty getting to it..

Ok lads looks like the game won't be going ahead in UCD due to the fecking hockey goals.
Will have a definite venue for you in the next few days.

    Team
    Frisbee - AM
    KaG - CM
    Dub13 - CB
    colly10 - RB
    dfx- - GK
    mayordenis - FW
    SuprSi - RM/CM
    Iago - ST
    Galvasean - RB/CB
    PHB - SS/LB
    janets_on_clubs - CM
    ~Rebel~ - ST/SS
    Voltwad - LB
    Bastard Prince - LB/RB
    Villains77 - LM/UT

I want EVERYONE to get back to me on whether or not your still playing. PM with your confirmation asap. Sunday is the last day i'm taking any cry off's as it will give me a week to get replacements in. If you cry off after Sunday you will not be considered for the next game unless we're really stuck. I know this sounds harsh but I don't need the stress of having 5 people drop out over the course of next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

personally if anyone "cries off" after Sunday, i think they should get a forum ban unless they have a pretty good reason.

fairplay to you for organising this Frisbee/Laura.

Why aren't you playin? And that other soft cock who has sullied the good Neil name?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Ok rang about the Leicster Celtic pitch there.
The guy isn't in front of his computer so he isn't sure if there's a booking pending or not.
He's going to ring me back.

There's an FAI course on there until 3 so it's a possibility we could book from 3-5.
However if there's a pending booking how would it suit people to start later if we cant get it for 3?
Would around 5 be too late?
