    I know I've seen a site that compares some Irish insurers mentioned here before but can't seem to find the thread, anyone remember what it's called ?

    Nope, this was a site where you put in your own details and it came back with different quotes.
    Anyone remember it ?

    the only problem is you have to have a perfect record no claims or convictions,and the car cant be modified or imported,and no medical conditions,if you have any of the above you have to ring them so they can say no!!

    I'd a similar problem with a Jap import 4x4 that I commercialised myself, none of the insurance companies had it on their books so they contacted Isuzu directly to get the run-down on the model and quoted me based on engine size, no. of seats, weight, etc. Even my log book says "Isuzu - Other" on it cos Shannon didn't care too much. Just tell them exactly what it is, its up to them to figure it out.

    Thanks mark. great website for quote comparision. I got following cheapest quote on irish provisional..I am already on €810 from insure.ie though.

    Quote = €816.11 Per Year

    The above quote is subject to the terms and conditions of Nononsense.ie

    * Date of birth: 21/07/1976
    * Car Make: HONDA LSI
    * Engine Size: 1.5

    Not easy to get insurance with a provo licence, best try quinn-direct i think.

    cool. I like that site, it seems to be independent. Chill.ie, insure.ie, 123.ie etc are all websites for brokers, and brokers get a fee everytime they sell a policy, from what I can see that site cuts out the middleman.

    The majority of those sites are not quote comparisons but belong to specific regulated insurance brokers. They are very handy when getting quotes but you will find that some can offer different prices and levels of cover from the same insurance company.
    Bottom line is to trawl through them all until you get one that suits you.
