Was windy earlier but I think the wind has moved a bit more SW'ly and the mountain shield effect kicked in and prevented things getting too bad - yet.
Lovley and sunny earlier but now showers are blowing though some with some fairly heavy downbursts
Currently 6.2°C with 3.3mm rain so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,853 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

The breeze is getting a tad stiff in Sligo now as well. What was a strong gust an hour ago is now the main wind speed and it's howling constantly now.

Hoping that the gusts don't ge too severe.

the wind is coming from the south here. would that indicate the strongest winds are yet to come once the depression moves off towards scotland?

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,431 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Pretty much Nacho, peak winds in your area should be in the next few hours.
Wow Marathon gas platform (off the south coast) reporting 70-94mph winds at 13:00!

Our trampoline has been hit hard, even though we moved it to shelter . . . the legs came off of it!

I better go and try and pick them up and put them in a safe area, they would be lethal if they started blowing around!;)
