Seems to be a lull here at the moment, still very windy but not as many strong gusts.

Just lost my aneomometer - pole bent in two and had to rescue from next door neighbour - last recording was 51mph - by far the fastest wind I have recorded in 18 months.

Heavy horizontal rain in north Cork, gale force winds have caused power outages in Watergrasshill, Rathcormac and parts of Fermoy.
ESB will be busy over the weekend.

Mallow was also reported to be without power.

Calm period has come to an end in Sligo.
Winds picking up again, more westerly this time. Next bank of showers moving in fast against the setting sun.

    Batten down the hatches :D

    Its calm here still . . . for now . . .:)

Same here, cleared skies. Is this the calm before Storm 11- the sequel?

Black sky out the front and clear blue sky out the back, mad weather this. There was very heavy rain and gusts about 20 minutes ago and now nothing, not even a breeze. (967mb)

The rain has turned to hail here, and there seems to be some very strong winds gusting. Amazing how things can change in a matter of minutes!

EDIT: Just heard a crack of thunder!

Fairly quite in this forum tonight . . . ;)

Clam outside at the moment, no rain, no snow or sleet.

That had to be the windiest storm in Dublin since the 1997 (?) Christams Eve storm (if not windier).

Has been calmer for the last 2 hours or so wind has picked up again. 20.1mm of rain in the last 24hrs with 6.3mm bewteen 2.30 and 3.30pm.

    Clear here, windy, +3.0c

Just looked at the radar. There seems to be a heavy blob racing in from the west. If the temp drops a bit, we could be in for some sleet/snow here. Next few hours will be interesting!

+1.9c here now. A few points of a degree cooler and we are in snow territory.

That precip is getting closer. Exciting stuff! My location normally does well in this setup with a westerly wind coming from the mountains (unless it sucks all the precip out!).
