snowing here in Cork, Togher, although seems to be brightening now

North Kerry around Tralee is totally covered with snow. It wouldn't take much for it to thaw out but the back roads are very dangerous at the moment.

There's an overturned truck near kerry airport and a crane has overturned just outside Farranfore.

    Hi Guys,

I live on a bit of a hill near Dundalk and we have an outdoor thermometer sitting on the window ledge of the utility window.

The temperature has been -5C or less since 6pm yesterday evening. It hit a low of -8C at 8am this morning. I feel that the thermometer reads about 1 or 2C higher than the actual temp because of some heat loss through the window in the utility.

Just wondering if anyone else is suffering really cold weather atm?

    We are still at -7C!

Strange thing is, it does not feel terribly cold. I think it's because there is no wind!

Drove down from Dublin to near Durrow this morning. Were a few heavyish sleet/snow showers on M7 near Port Laoise. Fields and roofs have a very thin snow cover, although it looks thicker on hills. Car thermo was 2 most of way on M7 dropped to 1 at AbbeyLeix.

It’s hard to imagine being so low to the ground but a crane is the easiest vehicle to turn over.
