4 part SimHQ review starts here

    Part 2 http://www.simhq.com/_air12/air_391a.html
    Part 3 http://www.simhq.com/_air12/air_392a.html
    part 4 Developer interview http://www.simhq.com/_air12/air_394a.html

All I was doing for the first few hours was crashing ... spectacularly. It really does feel like you've got 10 tons of metal dangling under a set of supercharged ceiling fans. Eagle Dynamics once again prove they are the masters of creating authentic flight models.

If you like Sims you are gonna LOVE this!

Eagle Dynamics released the English Manuals for free if you want to have a taste of what to expect

Should you have any specific questions i'd be happy to answer as best i can

Looks sweet, but as it has StarForce FrontLine ProActive, I ain't touching it with a bargepole.

You certainly wouldn't be the first to say that :)

Funny enough i've found it fairly FPS friendly. I have all the graphics options turned up full and I still get 25 to 30 fps in most cases (for the record I have a c2d 6300 ,2GB Ram and a 7900GS) If you have vista and dual core there is a littlte tweak to get another 10-20fps too.

There was a demo planned but i'm not sure what the ETA is.

Been playing for a small bit over Xmas and it's good.
It's very good. Attention to detail is amazing.

Brings me back to Falcon 4 and Janes Longbow 2 days with regards the sheer amount of study you need to do to play this on full realism.

Now on steam, uses Steam DRM now, not starforce. Bit more expensive though - €40

This is not a game, its a sim and its not for everyone. This is the full startup procedure.

Ok, there's a shortcut but the servers online are full of people who take this really seriously and play with all the realism effects on. Also, there are no dedicated servers, one player must host

Is is wrong that I really want that guy to crash right after take-off?

If it's any consolation, he would have for the first 20 or 30 times :)

Looks amazing, but way too hardcore for me, I'm still playing through the early missions in Dragon Rising!

Back to Desert Strike for me, that and LHX Attack Chopper!

You're screwed then, Dragon Rising is about as hardcore and Nuts magazine.

 Oh, No, that half-arsed attempt at a game, hope You don't run into any issues, it was so bad Codemasters themselves stopped supporting it after 6 months

Looking at that video makes me wish I still had a gaming rig. Was always a huge fan of flight sims from Flight Sim 4 and Microprose era. I remember the old EA/Janes games, particularly Longbow, and I thought that was hardcore because you had to do simple things like engaging the rotor into gear and adjusting the IHADSS.:D
