It's a great film. What's wrong with him listing it?

Well there's a few films that are a lot worse in my opinion but nothing was said about them? And that's just your opinion anyway. The whole thread has just gone off in a tangent of people listing their favourite films, which is to be expected and there's nothing wrong with that. Considering there's no real credentials as to what makes a film "Greatest Movie Ever," I could list The Happening with The Godfather and it'd still be okay.

(Well..not The Happening. It's just disgracefully bad, but anything else.)

i noticed all of those but the dark knight just stood out because everybody thinks its so great, when most of those people had no deep look at the movie they just liked "the asplosions!"

not saying its bad, just not great.:)

To be fair this thread has descended into "I quite like X, Y and Z films" which is grand.

Also The Dark Knight is probably one of the best films Ive seen, it has its faults sure, but it is a very very good film. In years to come, it will be on peoples lists of films, in the Clearasil and Hormones of the future.

^^^Was just going to mention that, in the context of recent film releases. I absolutely loved this film when I saw it. Fantastic acting, beautiful story and the most important aspect...the dance :D

The Pursuit of Happyness is one good film, Hairspray for a real feel good movie and of course In Bruges for none other than comedy!

Must say I didn't find In Bruges all that great. Some funny parts, which were very good, but then just some very poor moments.

As for Greatest Movie Ever, I'd probably say Shawshank Redemption or Toy Story. I'd be inclined to lean towards Toy Story too. Other films I enjoy are Rushmore, Billy Madison, Slumdog Millionaire.

Taken is good but it can hardly be ranked up there with the "great films".

    And Twilight...*shudder!

The ads for that presented Liam Neeson as if he was playing Shia Le Bouef (Or however you spell his ridiculous name :))

I could speak for quite a long time on this topic but I'll try to keep it short.

My personal favourite movie of all time is:

    *Drum roll*

You guessed it; The Shawshank Redemption.

Excellent movie, makes me laugh, cringe, feel fear for characters and shed a slight tear at times. It's hte only movie I have seen that can arouse all these feelings in me. The characters are so well developed and the script is amazing (I wouldn't expect any less from something adapted form a Stephen King short story). To top it all off you've got Morgan Freeman narrating the whole thing. Gosh what a sexy voice he has :pac:

Clearly the best film ever is Shark Attack 3

Is that the guy who plays Jack in Doctor Who?

edit: that looks like a brilliant film. Anyone ever see Primeval? Basically the same as that but with a giant 60ft crocodile instead of a shark. Apparently it's real as well.
