    I presume this is UCD?
Basically, if your not sure if you wanna do Comp Sci, Arts isnt a bad option, because you'll more than likely be able to switch stuff up and go to just arts. If you want to get a better degree in Comp Sci do it through science, I had a thread about it on the UCD forum.

I know a mate doing computer science in UL, very tough course, highest dropout rate in the university.

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet: high drop-out from 1st year for science courses has very little to do with how challenging the course is.

Points are generally low and 1st year is flooded with people who only went for Science because they didn't know what else to put on the form.

People with genuine interest do fine. :)

TBH, it hasn't influenced me at all. I do economics so I'm well aware of the state of the world's economy, but I still want to do business courses. From what I gather from this thread, people are thinking twice but still choosing a course that they want to do as opposed to a course that will maybe get them a job in a few years.

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to base your CAO choices on the current economic climate. Courses usually take 3 to 4 years so the world could be a completely different place then and be in a different state financially and economically.

Good look with the article and what's it for if u don't mind me asking???

sure my economics teacher is telling us that if we go to college for the next four years and hide, by the time we graduate things should be getting better.

My brother did this in DCU.
Ended up repeating every year, and dropping out at the end.
He didnt work at it, and ended up resenting the course.

I know a few of his mates who did the same course and loved it.

If you wanna do it, go for it. But work consistently, and you wont find it so tough =]
