bought some stuff here last weekend, real bargains. Nike runners, Le Coq sportif runners for 12 euro, lovely slazenger t-shirts for 10 euro etc. But at the till, they said that no item can be returned once purchased.

How can this be, is it that once they say it to you before the sale, it becaomes the contract of sale? If it was defective, surely you have the right to bring it back and get a refund?

Were the runners and tshirt really 1,200 euro and 1,000 euro prior to the sale? ;)

You are entitled to one of the three Rs should they be defective regardless of what is said, you never have a right to a refund, as we all know is at the discretion of the retailer which of the three Rs they enact.

What they're referring to here is if you buy something from JJB, and then decide later that you simply don't like it or have changed your mind, tough - they won't accept it back. Obviously, this wouldn't apply if the item you bought was faulty (eg. the recent Nike smelly runner problems) as by law they have to take it back in this situation and apply one of the three R cases.

Are the JJB stores closing down, the recently re-opend store in Newry I heard is having a closing down sale, and there's word going round that the store in Dundalk, Co.Louth is going to close too.

I got some great slazenger tennis gear, some badminton raquets for the wife and runners for the little one.

I would have thought this, but they definitely said that all items were non returnable. Its advertised as 99% off, but the reality is that most items are reduced a lot, have not yet seen a 99% discount item yet.

Maybe they are closing, does this change the rules for consumers?
