Septic Tank advice

Hi folks - looking for some advice when it comes to choosing a waste treatment solution. Only new at all this so not familiar with all the types by any means!

Only advice I've gotten so far is to go with a concrete tank (to provide more surface area for bacteria) and a backwash system... after that I'm still a bit clueless. The manufacturers sites all claim to be the best of course :) And the quoted purity values etc are difficult to decipher.

Anyone have experience on what the best things to look for are? Planning for a 5 bed house, percolation test failed but are allowing for a local treatment system.

The soil conditions will dictate what type of sewage treatment system you will have to install. Someone will have to carry out an assessment and ideally they should give you the advice or will at least have to specify what type of system although not necessarily the brand name.

This may help a wee bit.
