Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm going to tokyo for a while and i was wondering does anyone know of a good hostel, hopefully a relatively central one. I'd like to stay in the akihabara district but near there would do.

Any suggest or tips would be hugely appreciated.

have a look at this site: http://www.itcj.jp/contents/type_of_accommodations.html
I booked a place through them when I was in Tokyo. Not sure if you can book directly online but you can email them.
Didn't see any hostels in Tokyo but the Ryokan are essentialy Japanese Hostels. Very basic room, reasonably priced, clean. It was 2006 when I stayed there and I think it cost around 25 to 30 euro for a night. It was in a suburb of Tokyo but the Subway system is so good over there that it didn't really matter to me. You won't find anywhere in Akihabara. All retail.
Capsule hotels cost around 50 euro a night. Not cheap but worth staying 1 night for the experience.

Thanks. Staying in akihabara isn't essential so long as i can get around easily and i've heard the underground is very good so that shouldn't be a problem.
