Waterford Wedgwood suspends trading

Waterford Wedgwood has asked that its shares be suspended from trading on the Irish stock exchange. It was a long time coming UNFORTNATELY!!! Waterford Crystal was well known, but not a strong global brand. It never really conjured up an aspirational lifestyle since its good days up to the early 1990's. It failed to move with the times. Crystal is seen as a little dated in terms of gift giving amongst younger generations. Newbridge Silverware is a good example of a company that has constantly evolved to appeal to a viable target market. Maybe the eventual new owners will recognise this and launch a new era for Waterford Crystal. Just got to hope that it is a good thing in some way.
