Holiday accomodation in Cairns Australia

Hi, My folks are planning a 3 week visit to Australia in Feb 09. They will be staying in Kearns (hopefully I spelled that correct). I am just wondering does anybody know if it is possible to rent out somewhere for 3 weeks to stay, such as a holiday apartment or something. They are not minted or anything and are keeping to a budget so it would have to be affordable enough. They were on about staying in a hostel but from what I hear, these are quite expensive also and they may be better off renting somewhere for the extra bit of comfort.
Anyway I appreciate any suggestions or advice.

I assume you mean Cairns? There is a small Kearns in New South Wales though..

Cairns is very touristy so shouldn't be a problem finding apartment style accommodation. I was slumming it as a backpacker so I don't have any suggestions.

I was in Cairns over the Christmas for a couple of days and the Esplanade area/across from the lagoon is full of holiday apartments. It was really busy then but I believe it won't be as bad in February. It's a lovely city. Not your typical city but more like a big town.

Try this website til you see anyway. I'm sure they get loads of people staying for 3/4 weeks at a time.

try Bayview House. my parents stayed there when i was living in cairns, and loved it. lovely bnb. i'd highly recommend it.

Thanks for the links guys. I got a few places from these that I am just contacting to see if they have vacancies. The place looks amazing. I'm pretty jealous its not me going....:)
