While the online game is no way set in stone it is very likely due to interest I just want to get an idea on how many people want to play and who they want to be.

First of all just because everybody else is picking teams in one league doesn't mean that's the league we will all be playing in and you have to pick a team from there as well. Some may want to play in Italy, some in Spain and others in England so like the CAO pick the team you want first.

Also, even if somebody else has picked the team you want to play as still put it down. I want to see how many people come into conflict so we can sort it out diplomatically or whether we need to sort out some "name out of a hat" thingy.

I will get the ball rolling

I would like to be Liverpool.

Villa. But I'd still prefer do it all completely randomly.

not fussed about who i get as my first choice of Arsenal is taken (damn you fisbee), although maybe I'll go for City :D.

actually playing in Holland is great fun (no work permits so there's loads of cheap talent to find in South America and the like). maybe play the weaker teams in the eriedivisie (outside of PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord) as they are all pretty even. Relegation battlers one season can easily become challengers for a european spot the next.

Championship teams! That would be some challenge:pac:

Imagine the play offs at the end.

What day will we be doing this? I'll pick Newcastle for the Premiership.

Lets go EL teams! A full league of human players!
But for the premiership, I'll go for Man U :p
(alas, I play with FM08... are we using FM09?)

I'm interested depending on the time. Altho id expect to be steamrollered :o

Haven't played network FM in many a year, but i guess, besides the league choice, there's some other things to work out:

    - when to play? Im usually good for most evenings except Tues, Fri, Sat. Early afternoons at the weekend too are good I think.
    - Timed periods? i.e. game moves on after 5mins or so?
    - use some other external chat client (IRC?) during the game to keep in touch?

Someone more knowledgeable than I can probably answer some of that stuff.

If EPL, I'll be Spurs :)

    - I was think we play on a Saturday morning. Open to debate.
    - Timed has advantages, but I was thinking the host should decide on when to continue.
    - We use xfire. Every gamer uses it. I myself use it and it's the best tool. It allows to im in game without minimising and is free. Download here http://www.xfire.com/ If you download it add me suicidesamuri. That's my username.

Have we confirmed what league we are doing, depending on number might we be better off using a league with less teams?

It's more than likely going to be the EPL. In fact I'm 99% sure it will be.

I'd be interested. Don't think they've been mentioned yet, Chelsea. If not them 'Boro.

Btw, don't we all have to use the same patch? So will it be the first or second one?

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,568 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

I'd probably have to give this a miss if it's Saturday mornings.
Matches on a Saturday and their usually around 11 or so.

Doesn't have to be Saturday morning.

Can be Saturday afternoon or any other time in the week. We haven't set a time for it yet so don't worry.

We all have to use the same patch and it will be whatever the latest patch is.

I think it's time we start this mofo.

What time is good for everybody?

    A weekend?

Maybe Saturday around 3pm or Sunday about 1pm?

Saturday would be ideal for me. It'd be perfect if we could fill all 20 places though. Friends of friends etc.

Just a question for ya, if you cant be at your computer at the time does the game just skip past you?

As Saturdays really dont suit me as I have matches or work usually.
So do you have to be online at the same time as the host yeah?

You don't have to be online. We can continue on without you. Your Assistant Manager will take control of your games for you.

I'm not going to start a game unless it's on a time that suits everybody.

Anybody have a problem with Friday or Thursday evenings? That or some time Sunday.
