home heating oil consumption

    660 litres in 2 months ago to the day and the tank is dry. 4 bedroomed semi detatched house, average use 7 hours per day. Outdoor Grant burner. This cant be for real, can it??

    Perhaps better to stick to one thread or the other.......
    Having heating on 7 hours ever day will empty 600 litres pretty quickly.

    considering how cold it has been over the past couple of months and the fact its on for 7 hrs a day the figure of 600L sounds very normal to me

    I agree, 7 hours per day will empty any tank, pretty standard consumption but having the heating on for seven hours per day is having it on a lot, unless there are specific reasons.
    Theres some decent replies on the other thread linked to on how to reduce useage.

    Thermostatic rad valves and turn off rads alltogether in rooms you are not using.
