Under 25 male insurance?

Basically, I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a company that gives decent prices on car insurance to under 25 male drivers.

I am currently with Quinn Direct but am unhappy with their renewal quote I have just received. This will be my third policy. I have two previous years fully insured with no claims. I'm 22 and drive an 03 Fiesta worth about €5,000. I also have a full licence.

Quinn Direct are asking for €1,000 for fully comp and €750 for third party, fire and theft.

I have tried www.bestquote.ie but all the quotes are ridiculous. The best was still over €1,400.

I am fearful that €750 is the lowest I will get but I thought it worth a shot to see if anyone knows any other companies worth a try.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lee.

    Cheers for the replies.

Just tried www.123.ie to no avail. They're looking for €1,000 third party only and €1,300 for fully comp.

    Robbing gits! lol

Ill give Tesco's a buzz tomorrow tho. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks again,
    Lee.

    Axa if you're in college.

Their student first insurance is good.

I went with them after Quinn trying to rip me off with a crazy renewal quote.

If I was you I would definately try Nononsence Ryanair car insurance because they seem to offer one of the best prices around at the moment. ;)

The best thing to do is get out the goldenpages and ring every insurance company in there for a quote.

a broker maybe would be cheaper?

i started out with Hibernian and they were good to me but i did have to do a driving school thingy to get the discount. when they didnt reduce my renewal quote, AXA treated me quite well. Im 23 and my insurance was under 500 euro for a 1.4, lowest around for me by far. AXA also let you drive other peoples cars for a minimal fee, always a thing that comes in handy

Btw, quinns quotes seem ok, 1000 quid for fully comp for a 22 year old sounds decent to me.

i usually would ring the broker first. then they will say whos working out cheapest, then you can just ring the insurance company directly for what is usually a cheaper quote for the same thing.

    Cheers for all the input.

Tried everywhere mentioned. It seems that Quinn Insurance are working out the cheapest for third party fire and theft at €728 and fully comp for €920.

Decided to go with them for third party although Rynair we're offering fully comp for only €820.

Hopefully another year on the road and being 23 will mean a good price next year.

    Thanks again,
    Lee.

Hibernian are worth a look, if you're prepared to do the ignition test. Obviously, the quote will depend on the test, but it can be quite good.

I'm 22 and have insurance with Hibernian for my '95 Escort 1.3L. It only cost me €750 (that said, I do have 2 years NCB + the Ignition course)

just a warning here Ryanair quick quote was tempting but when we put in the car details suddenly amount jumps by over €275.00 plus excess was €500. This practice is very misleading.

Yeah I know but I still got a beter quote from Nononsence then I got from Quinn or Aaron insurance and some other companies.
I guess it all depends of the rating of the car that you have.

I actually put in 1.3 for quick quote but in full quote your allowed enter proper cc which was 1.25 so a little lower yet amount still rose sharply for a car worth only €1600.

    Im in the same situation.
Got a renewal quote from my current insurer axa (€1400) and it had hardly come down with 1 yr NCB but after doing so online quotes I have gotten this so far
    Nononsense tpft: €1057.50
    123.ie Travellers tpft: €1,049.80 comp: €1,299.70
    Quinn tpft: €1,044.58
    FBD tpft: €1,438.20
I will be ringing axa and see what they can do for me. I would rather stay with them than change tbh but if they cant match the price then il be going elsewhere. Im a student now too so their student rate might be cheaper. Heres hoping :)
