    Is it possible to do this yourself, even getting it pretty close to where they should point?.

    The Skoda's bulbs are a real pain in the arse to change, requiring a complete removal of the headlight unit.

    Which in turns put the beam off alignment, so is it possible to fix this problem in the intrim (until the NCT?).

    Are you asking because you need to change a bulb Mairt?

    If so, this should work;
    1. change the bulb
    2. line the car up about 15-20 ft from a wall on flat ground
    3. put your coat over the newly changed lamp
    4. mark the beam split on the wall ( where the \_ intersects) with chalk on the wall
    5. measure the distance between headlights with a measuring tape
    6. swap the coat to the other lamp
    7. adjust the new one so the \_ is the same height off the ground and the same distance away from the chalk mark as the headlights are apart.

    I haven't tried this but is that not a bit diy. If that is how the garages do it, then that could explain why so many cars have misaligned lights in Ireland.

    It's extremely diy but if care is taken then it works fine and I've passed NCT tests after doing it.
    I would think garages use proper beam setting equipment to align them, these don't always pass though as they tend to set the beams too close to the limit wheras I tend to err on the low side if in doubt.
