Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Help with lighting up a Photo Tent

I made a photo tent by following this tutorial: http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent/

I'm having a bit of trouble lighting the tent up as much as I would like. At the moment I'm using 3x150W tungsten lamps and 1x 100W tungsten. The lamps are positioned basically as close as possible to the cloth walls which cover the sides of the tent.

Wondering if equivalent watt daylight bulbs (as used in the tutorial) would make much of a difference in terms of brightening up the tent & object more?
I can edit the photo in PS afterwards, but I would prefer a more natural shot if possible because it starts to distort the image as I raise brightness/contrast.

Also, would anyone know where I could pick up some daylight bulbs in the Dublin area?
    Any advice welcomed!
    dela.

I would be using Halogen lamps for this, you can get them cheap enough and they put out a serious amount of light, can you post a shot of your setup and that should make it easier.

Woodies/B&Q would be a good bet

I got some in Woodies before Xmas 150W halogen for €15 or so. Used them to shoot product in a light tent, they worked the best. They also have the halogen lights on a stand for about €40.

Hey lads, thanks for that. I stuck with the tungstens in the end, and just took compensated with exposure - did the trick!
