Hi, not sure if I am in the right place but I am looking to register with FAS as an IT tutor, I was told I need a train the trainer course. I have completed my EDI/JEB. So I cant understand why I would need a Train the trainer course as well to tutor in ITC.:confused: . Thanks in advance.
    FS.

I know FAS are pretty hot on the CTP (Certified Training Professional) Course at the moment, which is based on the ECDL

My field is NOT IT but I had to get a CTP cert to have some of my students grand aided.

Some of the training elements on it are good but its so at variance with my field its not funny. But they want it so...

I'd love to know this too. I am thinking of registering as a trainer (project management but not necessarily in IT) and am not sure of the best route. Is it a case of becoming a trainer and enrolling in local programmes or can you establish you're own courses/curricula to be taught under the FAS banner? I want to be a lecturer and I'm eager to get experience. I am educated to masters level in PM and have a couple years experience in the industry though ultmately this would not be my lecturing subject.

Cant understand why FAS are so caught up in ECDL because its not worth anything, all the employers want their employees to learn IC3 and Microsoft specialist.

I have a MSc and am a member of Teaching council of Ireland. I would like to run fas courses but just don't know how to get started.
    Any advice:)

It is very hard to get any information about this from fas themselves. One is just told to look on our website. Main problem is Irish Homecare Services do the recruitment for most of the tutoring vacancies. In my experience, their recruitment procedures are unprofessional to say the least. Is there any other way of applying for fas tutoring vacancies without having to go through them. Any help please would be appreciated.
