    how much would a new our second hand alternator cost for a 02 astra 1.9 diesel. a friend of mine just brought his to the garage and the guy thinks its gone.

    I can see a load for a 1.7 diesal but nothing for a 1.9:confused:
    €50 on ebay.

    A reconditioned one is a good compromise between new and second hand... atleast it will be tested and guaranteed....

    Haven't bought a recon'ed one in years, but i'd guess around €60 or so for the part... if he rings the likes of myles balf he'll give him a price...
