Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Alias Tom on Duke Lane off Grafton Street have a decent sale with all stock reduced by 50 %. Some of the stuff in here is high quality and can still be expensive even with a 50% reduction.

    FOr example:

Paul Smith suit reduced from 900 to 450
Run-of-the-Mill Black suit reduced from 250 to 125
Ted Baker shirts reduced from 150 to 75
Prada shoes reduced from 300 to 150

I bought a very high quality Italian made tux shirt which was reduced from 150 to 75.

There are other various designer suits reduced from about 1500 to 750...A little over my budget but might interest other.

To be fair though, their prices were so grossly overinflated that even with 50% off, it's a rip-off. 75% off would be more like it.

Go in, find what you like, try it on and then order over the internet cheaper. Seriusly, I have bought stuff in that shop before and have been amazed each time how I allowed myself to be so very badly ripped off.

It's places like this that will suffer this year.
While I'm sure a suit for €900 in well worth €900, people now have to ask
is it worth while spending that amount of money on just one suit nowadays?

Not necessarily, they are operating on such a high margin that they don't need to sell a lot to cover costs. And I would hope that the owners have plenty tucked away for these rainy days...

I reckon they must at least be matching internet prices for alot of their stock. I went it because i needed a tux for a ball and didn't like the look of the cheaper stuff from M&S. In the end i got the better quality suit and shirt from Alias Tom and it was the same price as M&S.

Personally, i think 50% isn't enough of a reduction when the suits costs 1500euro but it might still interest those of us who aren't feeling the recession and who like their Armani suits

    haha

I shouldn't have said 'those of us' just 'those'.

There's no way i'd use my hard earned cash to pay for a 700euro Armani suit.

However i do confess, I do work for the government :p
