Power Steering Switch - ya wha?

the wife collected the car (Renault Clio) from a service yesterday. They told her that the Power Steering switch was faulty (amongst other things, such as the power steering pump leaking and oil leaking from head gasket!).

Now I'm not sure if I believe the guy (I've never noticed any oil marks on the driveway for example or burning of oil etc).

Lads, what is a 'power steering switch'? Is it another case of a car needing a new flux capacitor? :rolleyes:


Perhaps the mechanic spent too much at Christmas!

thanks for that, the mechanic also added that the power steering switch is a common problem on Renaults...hmm, I will keep an eye on any leaks and fluids on the driveway first.

just to update: I've had another mechanic take a look and it turns out the oil leak was coming from the sump, so the cowboys who did the oil change never replaced the feckin washer!

I'm so annoyed with the original mechanic now, stating that there was a problem with the head gasket and making up stories about the power steering pump:mad: I think I will ring them later to tell them my findings, not that they would be too bothered I'd say, cowboys! I'm tempted to name and shame but I won't until I contact them at least.
