It used be a fairly good website for discussions but now its way too over moderated , as far as I can see there are more guests than members looking at the forums and in one forum which I wont mention a lot of people I know dont bother posting anymore because of the excessive moderation

And this lack of posting and dissatisfaction is why it keeps breaking concurrent user record and posting records and one of top 1, 2 or 3 most used sites in Ireland (according to which metric you use)?

People that have transgressed think I moderate too much. People that report posts to me think I'm too lenient! ;)

I know a lot of people who just browse as they dont have any interest in posting. Nothing to do with over moderation or quality of posts. Just dont like to get tied down into conversations or whatever.

I love these Feedback threads that start out as an ostensibly innocuous query into the general consensus about boards.ie that end up being a one-man crusade against a particular moderator or user.

Did I say 'love'? I meant 'hate'.

+1. I liked the recent one where someone was just asking out of curiosity what exactly constitutes personal abuse: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055428868

OscarBravo twigged it from early on in the thread:
I get the distinct impression the OP is looking to hoard ammo for some cause or other. It's a bit tedious, tbh.

I for one love the feedback forum most of all.

Administration seem to have a feedback forum for the purpose of telling you to shut up and fu(k off should you wish to leave feedback.

I find this an amazing method of dealing with feedback and i reckon its only a matter of time before multinational corpotations adopts it.

    Oh,

I favour the relaxed look point, dont tuck in the thumb. Leave it resting on your middle finger like a pro.

Want to know what people think of boards website

Is it a good place for people to voice there opinions

Is it good source of information

Is it that people have nothing better to do

Is it for people to hide when voicing their opinions

Is it just for information more then opinion meaning you cant say what you really want

Or if you have any other reasons why people use Boards

    - Yes, its a great place to voice opinions. Even while it is moderated tightly it is done so intelligently; many an extremist opinion is let loose here for open discussion. one or two sites in the north I can think of will delete your posts for not lining up with their view of the world.

    - Well sure theres always google but for the odds and ends yes. Tech forums have always had a special group of experts roaming them, just for example.

    - When people have nothing better to do we have crazymonkeygames.com and porn. Lots of time to be killed in here, but also a lot to be learned from other members.

    - Anonymity is a great thing to be had in places like PI. For lots of people its one of the only ways they can bring themselves to discuss whats really on their mind.

    - I say what I want all the damn time. I cant think of any time I wa - well, there was that one time when Terry edited my posts to make it sound as if I was agreeing with him, but that was craic. No, I don't think I've ever been censored from saying one damn thing beyond the realms of law, and thats fine by me.

    - Boards is a community in a lot of ways. Just another way to get your social freak on without having to wear trousers.

I dont travel to a lot of the forums that have come up as being overmoderated here in feedback (eg. soccer, airsoft, waterford) so I cant really comment on those except on a case-basis. I stick to tech and Arts categories mostly - both need very little moderation in fairness, and PI, which is moderated very well in my opinion.

What do I think of boards? As far as message boards go, I have yet to find anything near as good to me as it. Outside of pornography, and perhaps google, its probably the most worthwhile website I have ever visited on the internet.

Well, you asked, and theres my answer. I've treated the question without any pretense.

Well what does one expect when they try fight an After Hours ban by appealing on a technicality?! Your case swayed from left to right and had holes all over it. In the end you gave up when nobody understood you and you blame the admins!?

Good to see your forgetting the other successfully Feedback threads tho. That narrow mind works well!

So you had a change of mind about personal abuse then.

And just to clarify there was nothing personal in that post. It was just my way of proving you wrong :)
