Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any one know of a good camera shop in Washington. I am heading there for a work trip on Sunday and I might pick up the 5D when I am there.

I was going to suggest Calumet but it appears they don't have a store in Washington.

    a quick google search...

Penn Camera are out of stock. I do notice that Calumet has stores in San Diego and Philadelphia where I am also going albeit for a shorter time. I might try to slip away from my meetings for a few hours and visit one of them

If you want to get me a lense, please, let me know :-) US prices are even better than Norn Iron prices.

What type of lens are you looking for. If its not a big huge one I'll see what I can do! PM me your details and details of the lens.

Presume it's Washington DC. If so, I was there last year and it's not very good for camera shops. Steer clear of Ritz Camera. Over priced and staffed by unknowledgeable teens. (I was looking for a nifty fifty, and in one branch, I and asked for the Canon 50mm f1.8. Had to explain what the f number meant !!!).
One great place was Embassy Camera (http://www.ephotocraft.com/), not TOO far north of Dupont Circle. Quite small, and not great stock in house, but they can get most stuff in within a couple of days. Best of all, the staff are very knowledgable and helpful, and their prices _were_ within a couple of dollars of B&H. Really nice guys. Might be worth shooting them an email or calling them and asking them to get a 5D in stock for you. If they've got it in stock, you won't go wrong with them.

Well it seems that the 5D Mark II is just as short here as at home. I have tried shops in San Diego, Philadelphia and Washington and no body has them! They are actually the same price in the North of Ireland as here too with tax and all.
