Here I was this morning after not posting or reading this place in
ages and was answering a post on the Limerick
boards about this story saying how pistol owners have
to go through so much and have all sorts of security etc etc etc and I come home and get to read the article and it leaves me wondering How this could happen?

Did the owner leave the thing lying about the place?
Did the owner not have his alarm turned on?
Did the burglers break into his gun safe? was it in a gun safe?
[EDIT] BTW not making and judgments as dont have the facts and we all know
how the papers can twist and mislead things. But tis a pretty hard thing
to defend if it turns out that the owner had not got it in at least a gunsafe.
