NAS device .. 4 or 5 disks ?

    Looking for a cheap NAS chassis for at least 3 x 3.5" sata drives ( I have 2 disks already )

    Found thecus and others on ebay but €500 :eek:

    anyone know of any cheaper devices ?

    (Note do not want a normal PC or server ..too power hungry )

    im in the same boat for the moment im going to get a pc and throw 5 disks into it.

    The cheapest option probably is a Buffalo TeraStation Live, €320+, comes with 4x250GB disks. The Western Digital ShareSpace 4000GB, looks interesting but I haven't looked at any reviews or details.

    only for i forgot i had that item on my watch list that could of been more expensive.

    There is (or was) a seller on adverts that pushed some of the Buffalo enclosures. Might be worth a look. This was in November or December 2008 and based in Cork.

    just went to PC world in naas to get a few hard disks

    asked for the price of 1TB sata internal drive .. €380

    walked out sans HD, is there a good price for these anywhere?

    filled it with disks .. but not impressed with the buffalo .. very slow even over GB network, getting about half the speed of USB. It's a terastation pro so maybe subsequent editions are faster.
