50 mm lens

I'm looking to buy a 50mm lens for a Canon 5d and i need some advice on which one to buy. I've looked at the Sigma 50mm F/1.4 EX DG HSM, any thoughts on this one? or should i stick with Canon.Also, is there any compatibility charts for Sigma Lenses to suit full frame cameras. Thanks in advance.

I have the Canon 1.4, it's a great lens, but the technology on it is far from new. The Sigma's gotten some fantastic reviews the last time I checked. There should be no problem with it on your 5D.
