    Hi all

I am looking for Rock DVDs with excellent footage with 5.1 sound recommendations. I am mostly into Classic or Progressive Rock but would entertain anything if you thought it was really that worthwhile.

I have plenty of Dave Gilmour, Pink Floyd, Rush, Led Zep and Beatles to keep me going so no need to recommend these.

    Cheers

    damo

Have you seen King Crimson's Eyes Wide Open DVD? If you like some instrumental rock, then I'd also recommend Joe Satriani's Live in San Francisco.

Of the music dvds I have bought over the last couple of years these I would recommend for both picture and sound quality.
    Fleetwood Mac : The Dance
    Peter Gabriel : Growing Up
Roger Waters : In the flesh live
Tom Petty : Runnin' down a dream
Deep Purple : Around the World live
Heaven and Hell : Live from Radio City music Hall
Eagles : Farewell I live from Melbourne
    Genesis : When in Rome
Whitesnake : Live in the still of the night.
Stevie Ray Vaughan : Live from Montreux. This contains 2 concerts the first the morons at this concert actually booed Stevie. Picture quality on this is not great but the sound is great.
I was lucky enough to get The Police : Certifiable on blu ray at Christmas, this is easily the best picture and sound quality concert I have.

Yes!! I got this for my birthday on DVD, and the picture quality is astonishing for DVD as well! Well worth grabbing and the Better Than Therapy documentary is worth checking out too.

Other ones i'd recommend would be

    Satriani Live!
Genesis - When In Rome 2007
Marillion - Bootleg Butlins and Christmas In The Chapel

Hmm, there's a few here I'll have to get hold of myself.

Damon, have you seen any of Jethro Tull's DVDs? Been meaning to get some myself, Tull are unbelievable:

Just to give some of my own recommendations

    Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii
    Dave Gilmour Live at Gdansk
Beatles - Anthology Box set (great documentary)
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars (picture quality is not great due to D A Pennebrakers hand held camera approach) however the sound is vastly improved
This is spinal tap - Should be in everyones collection
