Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Xbox Live, ICS and Windows Zero Config/WLAN Auto Config

Tempted to get back into Xbox Live but no longer have Windows XP so hoping you can all help.

Back in days of yore I used to connect the Xbox to my laptop via ICS on Windows XP which used the Wireless Network to access the router. There used to be an issue with random disconnections from XP however which occurred every 60 seconds. The disconnection lasted only five seconds or so but caused serious amounts of lag on live. Problem turned out to be that Wireless Zero Configuration on services.msc was automatically causing XP to search for better networks every 60 seconds.

The only way around the problem was to manually disable the service once the laptop booted up and connected to the wireless network.

Question is, however; is it the same case with Vista's 'WLAN Autoconfig' or have they resolved the issue of having to disable the service over and over again?

If anyone knows what I'm going on about - I'd be one step closer! Thanks in advance.

Vista was a pain when i was set up like that, was so sick of contrantly having to go in and set the network pack to private all the time.

Now im just bridging the connections and its works 100% of the time :)
