Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Now you know how much you can knock them down by! Managed to a tripod down by fifty euro the other day! Delighted!

The margin goes to pay the rent, the staff wages, the overheads (which includes rent), the cost of funding his stock until sold, the owners salary and to leave some profit as a reward to the operator for undertaking the risk of running his business).

Bricks and Mortar shops serve a purpose over an above just selling the products

Profit is not a dirty word but yes it should be reasonable and earned.

In my limited business experience price lists like that are not worth the paper they are (not) written on, its the rebates you can negotiate off the list price that count, and those depend on lots of different factors, plus margin is up to the retailer to decide.

For example the price on the list for a D300 body is $AU2799, but camerastore.com.au will sell it to you for $AU2298.

The margins if correct are fine for the main equipment. Bodies and Lens. It confirms that they really rape you for accessories like batteries and chargers which tbh is something we knew anyway.
