    Hi
Just bought a 2005 A4 in England befor x-mas. I have noticed recently that when starting off in 1st gear sometimes I hear a thud sound coming from the back of the car, as if there is something loose in the boot.
Anybody any ideas on waht this could be?

    Thanks

    Exhaust bracket that has broken?

    Worn suspension component, rubber mount?

    Most likely causes

The most obvious of them all, your jack could be rattling around the the space for the spare wheel. The only time I ever got a 50 Euro tip from a customer was finding this was the problem after she had been to 2 garages and one said she was imagining the noise and the other said it was her shocks!

    Thanks
Hopefully it is just the jack....will check it out at lunch time.
Never thought of checking the spare wheel and jack!

Could be dead or near-dead body in the boot. A quick trip to the Wicklow mountains should sort it out- bring a shovel.
