Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Using Bike NCB for Car

Does anyone know of any insurer in this country that will take a no claims bonus earned on a bike into account when applying for car insurance?

I've just recently bought my first car and I'm learning but the insurance is really expensive despite the fact that I have a good NCB on the bike and have been driving pretty much accident free for years. Even my current insurer(quinn) won't take it into account.

I see Carole Nash do it in the UK, why is it not done in Ireland, I would consider myself to be a more experienced driver than an equivilant learner who has never driven anything before.

I think Aon give a discount to your bike policy if you've got a car policy with them (or Axa, cant remember)

not exactly what you want, but I think the closest we have here unfort

nope, you're on your own on that own, I'm afraid..........

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Nope ur gona have to do it like the rest of us, BTW how many times have u heard the arugument from peeps saying that the drive a car so they would be good on a bike, they are two totally different ways driving, just cause ur good on a bike doesn't mean u will be in a car, what it does mean is u have road sense.

    Best of luck;)

I've been driving bikes for 10 years but wouldn't have a clue behind the wheel.

As already said Aon/Axa give the combination a discount. Their reasoning is nothing to do with skills transfer between the two, but purely that you cant be driving both at the same time so the risk is somewhat shared between the two vehicles.

I have this on my policies.
