US Bank Account

I've dealings with a wholesaler in the US who has recently taken to refusing to
ship to Ireland. I've handled that as I have a US re-mailing address.

My major issue at the moment is that they have now refused to take my Irish
credit card. I'd like to know if it's possible to either establish a new bank
account in the US and use the re-mailing address or present my AIB USD
account using the Routing Number of AIB's US intermediary bank.

Unfortunately I've failed to find a wholesaler in the EU who can supply me.
This seem's to be my only hope at the moment.

Thats unusual that he wont take your irish credit card, it is visa or mastercard right ?
sounds like alot of work at the end of the day.

can you offer to pay by cheque or bankser draft or something ?

I assume it is above board :) like you do trust this supplier

    It's an AIB Platinum Visa.

It's the billing address they're refusing.
I asked AIB if they could accept the US address for
address verification and they said that they could'nt.

They say they will only accept a check drawn on a
US account or a US-addressed credit card.
The credit card is out with no social security number
    or credit history.

And most US accounts are out because they also require
    a social security number. I'm thinking a non-resident account.

    Only if you're applying online.

You should be able to open a checking account and get a debit Visa or MC at most banks - but you will need to apply at a branch.

Also, you could get a secured credit card - no credit history needed, but the credit line is low, i.e. up to $10,000.

Thanks, I'll set things up with an account next month.
A debit card should be fine and I can set up a standing
order with the AIB to top up the account.
