Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you have broadband in Kilcullen?

    This is a longshot... however...

I've been experiencing some broadband issues over the past 6-8 weeks, mainly latency at random times, due to a routing issue. Despite my best efforts in terms of demonstrating, (with supporting technical documentation), to BT that the issue is theirs/Eircom's, they're dragging their heels getting the problem resolved.

If there's someone out there who has Eircom or BT broadband via the Kilcullen exchange, and is willing to help with some testing, then please let me know here or via PM.

    *crosses fingers*

    Thanks,

    Luc

I'm in kilcullen, and have no problems recently. I did at one stage, I threathened to close the account and they fixed it within a day.

Thanks for your reply Helena, glad to hear you got the problem fixed!

If you're so inclined, there's a piece of software called pingplotter, which can be used to graph and monitor latency/ping times. The evaluation version can be downloaded from http://www.pingplotter.com/ I'd be really grateful if you would let it run for a couple of days on your computer and post the result?

    Here's mine for today...

    Tony,

It's been running for a while now, looks nothing like yours. How do I get it posted here?

    Heya Helena,

Leave it run over the weekend if you can, make sure it's showing you 24 hours of graph, (right click the graph, 24 hours) and save an image (via File menu), every day at some point.

We'll worry about uploading them later :)

I only saved twice between friday and today, I kept forgetting over the weekend. Sorry. Is the a problem? Will I start again?

It's hugely in the red, in fact if I look at it as a 24hr graph, it's a block of red.

Hi - am not the Curragh exchange and I have been having the same problems for the last few weeks. Check out the broadband thread - plenty of people in the midlands are experiencing the same with Eircom denying any responsiblility.

I just got "Broadband" recently from Eircom, I'm in Kilcullen. When I ran a few tests from speedtest.net, I got huge ping times to all servers except some server in Galway. Ping to Galway is about 50ms, to Dublin it's about 400ms. The lag is just after the Portlaoise hop. I'll probably get onto Eircom to get them to look at it eventually but I have to summon the energy and patience for all the phone calls/ holding/ transferring and non-existant call backs I'll have to go through.
