this is what i read.Eye protection is mandatory in the form of goggles or approved glasses, full face protection is advised and is required for player under 18 years of age.

so id presume that they allow younger players.

    Sounds good, chears

Just to clear up, I'm jsut doing a group booking for my team members, posted here cause i cant reach them through irc etc.

The reason being we are going as one complete section full of ten players.

We are however hoping to have a platoon of irish players, if the numbers call for it. So jsut to spell out to people.

    Ghosts = one section
    Hawks = one section

There is afaik 3 sections to a platoon. That means there is a 10 man section going spare should, hopefully, we get 10 more irish players.

Just so you know, under no circumstances am I guaranteeing you will be playing with us, im not the event organiser. I do not mind throwing other people on the group booking, but it doesnt mean you will be allocated in with us. YOU MAY BE ALLOCATED TO A SECTION OF TOTAL STRANGERS

I'm just making that abundantly clear. The priority here is that my team members read this and get in touch with me asap. So for anyone looking to go on their own, your best of finding out the group booking of the woodland team ( who alot of boardies member will be attending) or booking by yourself.

200 places, if you go to the booking page and click "Click here to book" you can see how many places are left

anyone who sent me pms to join my booking ( yes you lot of people)

Just to make you aware, I only put through a booking for the names I listed above.

For the likes of Dreadlock etc, I'm sorry but I just put through the booking for my group.

However there is a dropdown menu present when booking to select people who are already booked, that you can allocated as "friends". TA Events will endevour to have you in the same section/platoon. As far as I'm aware.

So 8 hawks booked in tonight. Only 1 having trouble deciding, needs to find out if he can loosen the noose around his balls before going.

Na Taibhse(ghosts) booking is going through tomorrow so ive been told.

Starting Monday(ish) when all bookings have been paid. I think a cemented list should be made of attendees, for each side. You can then start making travel arrangements.

It would also be wise to start making lists of required essentials, comforts and extras as part of your "Phoenix Rising is t3h awesome" battle pack. Theres enough experience here from the likes of lemming, the last pr2 contingent etc, to get enough info and wisdom bashed around so everyone can be prepared and have a safe and comfortable trip.

Also, one piece of advice, set yourself a budget for pyro purchasing, or youll be like we were, kids in a candy shop and spend your bollox on things that go boom.

Its says on the website no flash grenades, so when u speak of pyro's what exactly are u talking about?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

    Player pyro's

    * Only TLSFX pyros may be used at TA Events games.
    * Fragmentation and smoke grenades can be used by the players but are limited to 8 of any combination per life.
    * Mk5, Thermobaric's and 9mm Blank firing grenades are all counted as fragmentation grenades.

    NOTE ...
Mk9, 12g Blank firing grenades, crow scarers or any other form of pyro not produced by TLSFX may NOT BE USED AT TA EVENTS GAMES!!! Anyone caught breeching this rule will be escorted off site immediately.

    NOTE ...
Smoke grenades must not be used within buildings.

rules in regard to phyros, a real flash bang would not be allowed as everyone would have to wear ear protection, due to there output and risk of damage, tlsfx phyros are simulated rounds and operate at a safe level, well that's my understanding anyway

Sorry lads i know there are rough estimates about this in previous pages but can some who has been to one of these before tell me a rough estimate of how much it costs? Especially if you want to buy some pyro:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,258 ✭✭✭Cheeky monkey

Here's a link to the place that will be supplying the pyros should give you a fair idea of what you'll be able to get your hands on

    85 sterling ticket
    150 euro ferry
you need a lift and contribute to the cost of the car
100 euro spending moeny for food etc
50-60 sterling for pyros ( maybe)

Then getting yourself proper equiped for the event

This cost fluctuates depending on what you need, good roll mat, raised camping bed frame, good sleeping bag, warm clothes, food and supplies

    all rough estimates
