Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I like it, I have similar views, I like the lone girl style although possibly a tighter crop maybe.

Great pic. I wonder what further back (for more jetty) and lower angle would look like? (maybe there is no more jetty to go back !)

Lovely shot. The only thing that bugs me is the sky. It looks "inserted". I had a look at the 1000 pixel on pixie and it is even more so in that size. Is it the original sky? It's on the join between land and sky that it looks false.

No Danny ... tis the real sky ... I used a red filter to darken the blue along with a polariser ... maybe that had a bearing on the look?

I was thinking that Philip. I have noticed that happen myself a few times when converting to B&W. I wouldn't mind seeing it with muted colours and the sky. I think that would work too.

Interesting idea Danny... I'll try that and let you know how it works out ...

personally the sky is something I like... looks almost forboding and dark, in contrast to the little girl sitting happily on the jetty

Great shot - would be interesting to see it printed large.

Thanks Monasette...I'll probably stick it in a frame .. dunno how large I'd get away with ...

    great shot

would love to see it from a lower angle too although the girl might get lost in the background then

    well done

Smashing shot, and great in B&W.

I would be tempted to crop the bottom part of the pier out altogether to make a more panoramic shot. :)

I love the framing as well, it's very well proportioned. For me though as well, I think the sky is a bit too overblown. At the top it's almost black, which for me is a bit too much. Also, there's something in the water about one-third in from the right, looks like 3 vertical scratches? Dunno what it is, but it keeps distracting my eye.

Overall though I think it's a great shot!

Cheers ... I was wondering if anyone would notice the 3 marks ... it's left over from the enormous lifebelt post which was dominating the picture ...I will fix that prior to printing ... fair play to yer eyes though ...

as for the blown issues, there is actually penty of detail left, but for web display, i always try to darken too much rather than light ... I find darks tend to attract the eye less than blown highlights ...

I appreciate your detailed feedback and taking the time for advice,

    Phil
